The Vision

During our initial consultation call, Liesa mentioned how much she and Myles would love to take their engagement photos at the Sand Dunes. I always love the opportunity to photograph epic locations and was very excited about this idea. At one point we considered nixing this concept and shooting closer to Los Angeles due to their work schedules and to avoid the additional time of traveling up the coast, but in the end we decided it would be worth it and I couldn’t be happier with our decision. This sunset sand dunes engagement session is one of my all time favorite engagement sessions to date and I’m so excited to be sharing it with you!

The Setting

If you haven’t been, I would highly recommend visiting the sand dunes. It literally feels like you’re walking onto mars. It’s such a surreal feeling and an incredible sight to be seen. The light was absolutely magical, the temperature was perfect and the wind decided to cooperate by providing us with a calm breeze which resulted in the most delicate movement in Liesa’s epic Mac Duggal gown. The experience of shooting in such a vast and expansive area with no one else in sight, surrounded by serene silence as we watched the sunset was truly an other-worldly experience that I will never forget. So if you’re willing to set aside a bit more time for your engagement session, I promise you a sunset sand dunes engagement session is absolutely worth it.
