The Details
Mike & Kim are two of the most kind-hearted, beautiful souls. I ended my 2017 wedding season by photographing their incredibly beautiful day! They are caring & sincere, & their love for each other is entirely evident. I thought it would be fun to give you a little background on how their love story came to be.
From Mike & Kim:
HOW WE MET
It was in December 2011, when we met at Starbucks. Mike was studying for an upcoming college exam with his classmate Bianca, Kim’s best friend & (now) Maid of Honor. At the same time, Kim was stopping by Starbucks to visit Bianca. She then introduced Mike & Kim for the first time to each other. The following day Mike asked Bianca for Kim’s phone number because he thought she was “cute”. As a protective best friend, she said “no, only if you are looking for a serious relationship.” So, Mike had to find his own way to get to know Kim & to get her phone number. Knowing this same Starbucks was Kim’s go-to study spot, Mike met her there a few more times the next week and the rest is history…
HOW HE PROPOSED
On February 29, 2016, Mike proposed to Kim under The Eiffel Tower, in Paris, France. Ever since she was a little girl, Kim always dreamed of going to Paris & Mike knew this. In 2015, they began planning a 2 week adventure around Europe; visiting Paris, London, Rome, & Venice. Mike proposed on night one of the trip. He tricked her by telling her to stand under The Eiffel Tower so he could take her picture as the tower lights had just come on & had burst into sparkling lights, all while he was recording on his camera. As he got closer (still recording), Kim knew exactly what was going on. He got down on one knee, pulled out the ring box, & popped the question.
THE LOCATION & OUR VISION
Hummingbird Nest Ranch was actually only the second wedding venue we visited. We were planning on touring at least a couple more venues before making a final decision; however, after seeing the place we knew immediately this was the one. We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding to fit our adventurous personalities, & The Villa at Hummingbird Nest Ranch offered that & more.
Aside from all of the beautiful flower arrangements and delicious food, our ultimate vision for our wedding day was not only to celebrate our love, but to see our family & friends from different backgrounds, traditions, & beliefs come together to have a great time. Our vision was to create a romantic atmosphere that guests couldn’t help but fall in love with.
