Some places become part of your story long before your wedding day.
For Maggie and Teddy, their Hotel Bel-Air wedding wasn’t simply about choosing one of Los Angeles’ most iconic luxury venues. It was about returning to the place where forever began.
Just two years before exchanging vows beside the iconic Swan Lake, Teddy surprised Maggie with a proposal she never saw coming. What she thought was an evening stroll through one of Los Angeles’ most beautiful hotels became one of the most unforgettable moments of their lives. Returning to that very same spot to say “I do” transformed an already extraordinary venue into something even more meaningful, a place forever woven into the story of their relationship.
As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of photographing luxury weddings throughout Southern California, from intimate private estates to some of the region’s most iconic venues. Hotel Bel-Air has long been one of my favorite properties—not only for its timeless architecture and lush gardens, but for the way it effortlessly blends classic Hollywood glamour with modern romance. It’s the kind of venue that feels both iconic and deeply intimate, making it an unforgettable setting for a wedding celebration.
Their wedding, recently featured on Style Me Pretty, was a masterclass in timeless elegance. Inspired by the romance of Swan Lake, the glamour of old Hollywood, and the belief that luxury is found in thoughtful intention rather than excess, every detail reflected who Maggie and Teddy are as a couple: refined, deeply connected, and effortlessly sophisticated.

There is a reason couples from around the world dream of getting married at Hotel Bel-Air.
Unlike many luxury venues that feel grand or imposing, Hotel Bel-Air has an intimate, residential elegance that makes guests feel as though they have stepped into a private European estate hidden away in the heart of Los Angeles. Every garden pathway, fountain, and architectural detail feels thoughtfully preserved, creating endless opportunities for meaningful moments and timeless photographs.
Originally opened in 1946, Hotel Bel-Air has become synonymous with classic Hollywood glamour, hosting generations of celebrities, creatives, and notable guests while maintaining its reputation as one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive destinations. Its combination of privacy, history, and natural beauty makes it a favorite for couples seeking a luxury wedding experience that feels elevated without feeling excessive.
For couples planning a Hotel Bel-Air wedding, some of the most iconic locations throughout the property include:
Swan Lake — Perhaps the most recognizable ceremony location at Hotel Bel-Air, Swan Lake provides a breathtaking setting surrounded by water, lush landscaping, and graceful swans. The natural beauty of this location creates an unforgettable ceremony backdrop and feels especially magical during golden hour.
The Garden Spaces — The venue’s beautifully manicured gardens offer countless opportunities for portraits, cocktail hour moments, and quiet pauses throughout the day. From romantic pathways to secluded corners surrounded by greenery, the property feels like a private escape.
The Ballroom & Reception Spaces — Hotel Bel-Air’s reception spaces provide a sophisticated canvas for couples to bring their vision to life, whether that vision is classic and romantic, modern and editorial, or inspired by the timeless elegance of old Hollywood.
As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, Hotel Bel-Air is truly a dream location to photograph. What I love most about this property is the way the natural beauty and architecture work together to create images that feel layered, romantic, and timeless. The texture of the palm trees, the dancing shadows created by the California sun, the soft light filtering through the gardens, and the contrast of the iconic pink buildings against the lush greenery all create an atmosphere that feels uniquely Hotel Bel-Air.
Some venues photograph beautifully from one or two signature locations, but Hotel Bel-Air feels like an entire world to explore. Every pathway, courtyard, and garden nook offers a new opportunity for storytelling. Whether it’s a quiet portrait moment beneath the palms, a candid walk through the gardens, or an elegant celebration unfolding beneath the stars, the property gives couples space to slow down and experience their wedding day fully.
But beyond the beauty of the venue itself, what makes a Hotel Bel-Air wedding special is the feeling it creates. It is a place where couples can slow down, be fully present, and celebrate surrounded by the people they love most.

Maggie and Teddy’s story began in the most modern of ways, with a connection sparked through Hinge.
The two met online and went on their first date on October 25, 2022. Over the next three years, their relationship grew through shared experiences, adventures, and the everyday moments that make a partnership meaningful.
When asked to describe their relationship and personal style as a couple, Maggie shared that their aesthetic is:
“Timeless and refined with a romantic, modern edge.”
That description perfectly captures the feeling of their wedding day. They gravitate toward classic silhouettes, neutral tones, and elevated details—but always with warmth and intention. Their style is chic without feeling overdone, sophisticated while still feeling effortless.
That same philosophy guided every element of their celebration.
Their relationship is rooted in experiences and quality time together. They love traveling, prioritizing wellness, working out together, and spending quiet evenings at home with their beloved dogs, Gigi and Mickey. Whether exploring somewhere new or enjoying simple routines side by side, their connection is built around being fully present with one another.
And that sense of closeness was beautifully reflected throughout their wedding day.

The magic of Maggie and Teddy’s Hotel Bel-Air wedding truly began two years earlier, at the very same location where they would later exchange vows.
On their second anniversary, Teddy planned a surprise proposal in Los Angeles. He told Maggie they were going to Hotel Bel-Air to take a walk around Swan Lake at sunset—a meaningful detail that would later make their wedding ceremony location even more special.
But Teddy had something much bigger planned.
After arriving, he suggested they visit what Maggie thought was a beautiful nearby home. When they arrived, he encouraged her to step outside first to “see the view,” even though she was playfully insisting she wanted to see the entire house before going outside.
When she walked out, she found a heart made of white roses waiting for her.
Before she could fully understand what was happening, Teddy was down on one knee.
As Maggie described it, “everything was a blur.”
That moment became the inspiration for their wedding day. Returning to Swan Lake to begin their marriage felt symbolic—a beautiful continuation of the story they started there.
The same location that held one of their most cherished memories became the place where they promised forever.

When Maggie and Teddy envisioned their wedding, they wanted it to feel like a modern fairytale: romantic, elegant, and deeply personal.
Their design centered around soft, ethereal details with a timeless aesthetic. A palette of whites, blush tones, and romantic textures transformed Hotel Bel-Air’s gardens into an elegant celebration that felt both classic and contemporary.
Every element was thoughtfully curated, not simply to create a beautiful event, but to create an experience.
From the earliest details guests encountered to the final moments of the evening, the wedding reflected Maggie and Teddy’s shared style: intentional, refined, and effortlessly elegant.
A defining feature of their celebration was the custom branding woven throughout the weekend. Rather than feeling like a traditional wedding logo or monogram, every personalized element felt like a natural extension of their story.
Custom monograms, refined paper goods, signage, and bespoke details created a cohesive visual identity throughout the celebration. Each piece invited guests into their world while maintaining a sense of restraint and timeless sophistication.
The result was a wedding that felt completely personal—an elevated experience designed around connection, family, and creating memories that would last far beyond one beautiful day.

.
There is something incredibly meaningful about a wedding ceremony that feels connected to a couple’s history. For Maggie and Teddy, exchanging vows at Swan Lake was not simply a beautiful venue choice, it was a continuation of one of the most important moments of their relationship.
The same peaceful waters, lush gardens, and romantic surroundings that witnessed Teddy’s proposal two years earlier became the backdrop for their wedding ceremony. It was a full-circle moment that added an emotional layer to an already breathtaking setting.
As guests gathered overlooking Swan Lake, the atmosphere felt both grand and intimate. The beauty of Hotel Bel-Air provided the perfect foundation, but it was the emotion of the moment; the anticipation, the joy, the tears, and the overwhelming sense of love, that truly transformed the space.
The ceremony design embraced the natural elegance of the venue with lush floral arrangements in soft whites and blush tones. Rather than competing with the gardens, the florals enhanced the existing beauty of the property, creating an ethereal setting that felt romantic and organic.
The aisle was designed to feel like a grand entrance while maintaining the effortless sophistication that defined the entire wedding. Every detail, from the placement of the blooms to the textures and movement throughout the ceremony space, was intentional.
It felt like stepping into a scene from a classic romance film, yet it remained completely personal to Maggie and Teddy.
That balance is what made the day so memorable: a celebration that honored tradition while still feeling modern and uniquely theirs.

Luxury weddings are often defined by the details, but the most memorable celebrations are the ones where every detail has meaning.
Maggie and Teddy approached their wedding design with a clear vision: timeless elegance with a romantic, modern edge.
Their aesthetic was never about excess. Instead, they focused on creating a cohesive experience where every element felt considered—from the invitation suite guests received before arriving to the final details of the reception.
The wedding weekend was designed almost like a luxury brand experience. Every touchpoint reflected their shared style and created a feeling of stepping into their world.
Custom branding played a significant role throughout the celebration. Their personalized monogram and visual identity appeared throughout the weekend in subtle and sophisticated ways, including:
Rather than feeling overly coordinated, these details created a sense of continuity. Guests felt immersed in an experience that was unmistakably Maggie and Teddy.
This intentional approach to design is one of the things I love most about photographing luxury weddings. The details tell a story before the couple ever says a word. They reveal personality, priorities, and the feeling a couple hopes their guests will carry home.
For Maggie and Teddy, that feeling was effortless elegance, warmth, and connection.

The floral design for this Hotel Bel-Air wedding beautifully complemented the natural surroundings of the property.
Soft whites, delicate blush tones, and lush garden-inspired arrangements created an atmosphere that felt romantic and timeless. The goal was not to transform Hotel Bel-Air into something entirely different, but rather to enhance what already makes the venue so special.
The florals echoed the romance of Swan Lake while bringing a fresh, contemporary perspective to the space.
Organic textures, layered arrangements, and soft movement throughout the designs created a feeling of abundance without feeling overwhelming. Every arrangement felt elegant, feminine, and perfectly suited to the setting.
The ceremony space became a dreamlike garden scene, while the reception carried that same romantic energy into the evening.
This is one of the reasons Hotel Bel-Air continues to be one of the most sought-after luxury wedding venues in Los Angeles. The property itself provides such a beautiful foundation that thoughtful design choices can elevate the experience while still allowing the natural beauty to shine.

Maggie’s bridal style perfectly reflected the overall vision of the wedding: timeless, refined, and effortlessly beautiful.
Every fashion choice throughout the celebration felt intentional, from the wedding gown to the reception attire and accessories.
Rather than following trends that might feel dated years later, Maggie embraced a classic aesthetic, one that felt sophisticated in the moment and will remain beautiful for generations.
Her bridal look complemented the romantic atmosphere of Hotel Bel-Air perfectly. Soft, elegant, and polished without feeling overly styled, it allowed her personality and natural beauty to remain at the center.
That philosophy carried through every wardrobe choice throughout the wedding weekend, including her welcome party attire, reception dress, and carefully selected accessories.
The result was a collection of looks that felt editorial while still feeling authentic.
For me, these are the images that become true heirlooms, the ones where the beauty of the details is matched by the emotion behind them.

One of the most meaningful parts of Maggie and Teddy’s wedding day was the presence of their dogs, Gigi and Mickey.
For couples who consider their pets family, including them in the wedding celebration is about so much more than a cute photo opportunity. It is about honoring the life they have built together and including the little personalities that are part of their everyday story.
Gigi and Mickey were woven throughout the celebration in thoughtful ways, making appearances throughout the wedding day and adding an extra layer of personality and joy.
Their presence was a beautiful reminder that weddings are not just about one single moment, they are about celebrating the entire journey that brought two people here.
The quiet moments with their dogs, the laughter, and the affection they shared created some of the most authentic memories of the day.
As a photographer, these are often some of my favorite moments to capture because they reveal the true heart of a couple. They are the unscripted interactions that make photographs feel alive years later.

While the grand moments of a wedding day naturally receive attention, the ceremony, the reception, the first dance, some of the most meaningful photographs happen in between.
A glance shared before walking down the aisle.
A quiet breath before the ceremony begins.
A hand squeeze when no one else is watching.
A laugh with family members.
A moment of reflection as the reality of the day sinks in.
Maggie and Teddy’s wedding was filled with these in-between moments. Their connection felt natural and effortless, which allowed the day to unfold beautifully.
My approach as a Los Angeles wedding photographer has always been centered around creating imagery that feels both refined and honest. I believe the most powerful photographs happen when couples are able to fully experience their wedding day rather than constantly perform for the camera.
The result is imagery that feels elevated while still preserving the emotion of the moment.
That balance, editorial artistry paired with genuine connection, is what makes wedding photographs become family heirlooms.

As the sun set over Hotel Bel-Air, the energy of the celebration shifted from the quiet emotion of the ceremony into an evening filled with laughter, music, and connection.
The reception design continued the elegant aesthetic established throughout the day, creating a seamless transition from garden romance to sophisticated celebration.
Every element was carefully considered; from the tablescape design to the lighting, entertainment, and guest experience.
As a photographer, this was one of those receptions where you could feel the energy the moment you stepped into the room. Eli’s Band wasn’t just incredibly talented. They created an immersive experience. They had guests on their feet from the very beginning, drawing everyone into the celebration with an infectious energy that never let up. Everywhere I turned, there was joyful laughter, enthusiastic dancing, and genuine connection unfolding in front of my camera. Those are the moments I love documenting most because they can’t be staged. They’re the kind of memories that transport you right back to how the celebration felt, not just how it looked.
The evening reflected what Maggie and Teddy valued most: bringing the people they love together and creating a celebration that felt unforgettable.
Their wedding was not designed simply to be photographed. It was designed to be experienced.
That distinction matters.
The most beautiful weddings are the ones where the couple’s personality remains at the center. Where guests feel welcomed, where traditions feel meaningful, and where every detail serves a purpose.
Maggie and Teddy created exactly that.
A wedding that was undeniably luxurious, but even more importantly, deeply personal.

A truly unforgettable wedding venue does more than provide a beautiful backdrop, it creates a feeling.
That is exactly what makes a Hotel Bel-Air wedding so special.
For couples searching for a luxury wedding venue in Los Angeles, Hotel Bel-Air offers a rare combination of history, privacy, natural beauty, and timeless elegance. While many venues can create a beautiful event space, Hotel Bel-Air provides something more intangible: an atmosphere that feels romantic from the moment guests arrive.
The winding garden pathways, peaceful Swan Lake, lush landscaping, and iconic architecture create a sense of escape while still being located in the heart of Los Angeles.
It feels worlds away from the city, yet remains accessible for couples and guests celebrating in Southern California.
For couples who value:
Hotel Bel-Air is truly one of the most remarkable wedding venues in Los Angeles.
Maggie and Teddy’s wedding was the perfect example of what makes this venue so beloved. The setting was breathtaking, but the most memorable part of the day was the way every detail reflected who they are as a couple.
Their celebration was not simply beautiful, it was personal.

Yes, Hotel Bel-Air is one of Los Angeles’ premier luxury wedding venues and hosts intimate ceremonies, elegant receptions, and full wedding weekends for couples seeking a refined and private celebration.
The property offers multiple beautiful locations throughout the estate, including the iconic Swan Lake, garden spaces, and elegant reception areas. Each location provides a unique atmosphere while maintaining the romantic, timeless feeling that defines Hotel Bel-Air.
Hotel Bel-Air is popular among couples because of its combination of luxury, privacy, and natural beauty.
Unlike many traditional ballrooms or event spaces, Hotel Bel-Air feels like a private estate tucked away in the hills of Los Angeles. The gardens, historic architecture, and peaceful surroundings create a naturally romantic environment that requires very little additional styling.
The venue is especially appealing for couples who want a wedding that feels:
It is a setting where guests can slow down, enjoy the experience, and feel truly transported.

Some of the most iconic portrait locations include:

The Architecture of the Estate
The classic architecture and elegant details throughout Hotel Bel-Air provide a sophisticated backdrop for editorial-inspired imagery.
For couples choosing a Hotel Bel-Air wedding photographer, the venue offers an incredible variety of settings while maintaining a cohesive and timeless aesthetic throughout the day.
Thanks to Southern California’s beautiful climate, Hotel Bel-Air weddings can be stunning year-round.
Spring and early summer bring lush gardens and fresh blooms, while fall offers warm golden light and comfortable temperatures for outdoor celebrations.
One of the greatest advantages of a Los Angeles luxury wedding venue like Hotel Bel-Air is the ability to incorporate outdoor spaces throughout the wedding day, allowing couples and guests to fully experience the beauty of the property.
Maggie and Teddy’s wedding is such a beautiful example of what happens when thoughtful design meets genuine connection.
Every element, the Swan Lake ceremony, the romantic floral design, the custom branding, the meaningful details, and the inclusion of their beloved dogs, worked together to create a celebration that felt completely authentic to them.
That is always my favorite kind of wedding to photograph.
The most powerful images are not simply photographs of beautiful details. They are photographs that bring you back to a feeling:
The excitement before walking down the aisle.
The way your partner looks at you when no one else is watching.
The laughter shared with your closest friends.
The embrace from a family member.
The quiet moments you never want to forget.
As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, my approach is rooted in creating imagery that balances refined artistry with genuine emotion. I love photographing celebrations that feel elevated and intentional while still preserving the natural, unscripted moments that make each couple unique.
If you are planning a Hotel Bel-Air wedding and are looking for photography that captures both the beauty of the venue and the heart of your story, I would love to connect.
